Foxconn ramps up recruitment of new assembly line workers at its vast manufacturing complex in central Chinese city of Zhengzhou.

The South China Morning Post quoted a recent report from local television as saying that the world ‘s largest iPhone factory is rapidly hiring an additional 200,000 workers before the end of September 2021, as Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 13 in the coming months.

According to deputy general manager of Foxconn’s China facility, Wang Xue, adding staff is

currently the “biggest bottleneck” at the vast manufacturing complex.

However, Mr. Wang believes it is possible to achieve the staffing target “at the current rate

of recruitment”, with the support of the local government.

Reportedly, Foxconn’s production facility in Zhengzhou can accommodate 350,000 workers

in the assembly line and produce up to 500,000 smartphones per day.

The hiring push is a sign that Apple’s main supplier is under great pressure to cope with the

iPhone 13 production schedule.

According to Dan Ives, CEO of investment firm Wedbush Securities, Apple placed target to

ship between 130 million and 150 million new iPhones in the second half of this year.

Apple’s supply chain in Asia will allow production of 90 to 100 million units to meet initial orders for the iPhone 13.

With the goal of quickly attracting staff, Foxconn has increased the cash incentive for new workers to the highest level since the company’s production complex began operating in 2010.

Specifically, Digital Product Business Group, the division responsible for assembling iPhones of Foxconn, offers a contracting bonus of up to 12,700 yuan (about $1,960) per worker in the new production line.

This is according to the latest announcement published on the website and the company’s official social media accounts.

The new cash bonus applies from August 15. According to the assessment of the South China Morning Post, the new bonus is 2,500 yuan higher than the old level offered three weeks ago.

In addition, each newly hired employee will receive a stipend of 2,000 yuan for transportation

and a contract bonus of 8,500 to 9,500 yuan after working on the production line for 90 days. New worker referrals will also be rewarded with 1,200 yuan.

Ronaldo Asks Man Utd board to Replace Solskjaer with Zidane

According to El Chiringuito, Cristiano Ronaldo has advised Manchester United’s board to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Zinedine Zidane.

Following a 4-2 loss to Leicester City on Saturday, Solskjaer has been under greater scrutiny.

The Red Devils have lost three matches in the Premier League.

United’s leadership is said to have given Solskjaer their full support, believing the 48-year-old would enhance the team’s performance.

Senior officials at Old Trafford, on the other hand, are weighing their alternatives and have identified him as a viable contender, based on Ronaldo’s proposal.

According to the report, Zidane has met with United’s management, but he is interested in succeeding Didier Deschamps as France’s new head coach.

It’s also been reported that Zidane was approached by both PSG and Newcastle United, but the former Real Madrid manager declined both offers.
